The Arena

8:00am to 12:00am Base Rate* $6500,O.T. Rate $300/hr.


Damage Deposit: Users of the Arena are required to pay a refundable damage deposit fee based on the event type, as follows:*
Rock/Rap Concerts $10.000
Concerts $2,500
Sporting Events $2,500
Dances $2,500
Low Risk Events $500

*Required damage deposit may be increased depending on the nature of the event. License assumes total liability for damages incurred in excess of deposits paid.

Basic Facility Set-ups: Standard set-ups are free of charge depending upon the type of event. Set-up for catered food functions include tables,chairs, head table and podium.

Equipment and Services Not Included in Base Rate: For specific equipment, staging, electrical, sound, catering, water service, decorating, medical, telephone and other services not included in basic facility set-ups, contact HJKCC for assistance and referrals.Production equipment is handled and operated by IATSE local 107 stagehands.(Paid for separately by client) Contractors are paid directly by the client.

Base Rate*: Base Rates are minimum fees..Paid admission events are charged at the minimum fee or ten percent(10%) of gross ticket sales, whichever is greater. In addition there is a per ticket fee of $1.00 per ticket sold up to $75, and $2.00 per ticket fee for $76 tickets and above.

Regular Hours: Above rates are all day/evening (8am-12am). Activities beyond regular hours shall be subject to overtime rates at the discretion of the HJKCC.

Calvin Simmons Theatre

8:00am - 12:00am Base Rate $4000

Damage Deposit: Users of the Calvin Simmons Theatre are required to pay a refundable damage deposit fee of $500.*

*Required damage deposit may be increased depending on the nature of the event. License assumes total liability for damages incurred in excess of deposits paid.

Equipment and Services Not Included in Base Rate: For specific equipment, staging, electrical, stagehands, sound,catering, water service, decorating, medical, telephone and other services not included in basic facility set-ups, contact HJKCC for assistance and referrals. Production equipment is handled and operated by IATSE local 107 stagehands.(Paid for separately by client)

Insurance Requirements

Users of the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center are required to furnish HJKCC with a "Certificate of Insurance" for a comprehensive general liability coverage naming The City of Oakland, its Council,OPR,CA and their officers, employees and agents as additional insured with a limit of liability not less than $1,000,000 combined single limit for personal injury and property damage.

Additional insurance is required if alcoholic beverages are served. Definition of specific coverage is available from HJKCC.

Catering Service Fee: Users of the Ballroom,Gold Room can contract with outside caterers or use the HJKCC caterer.

There will be a charge of $18.00/hour for custodial, house security, production and facility set-up staff. The House Technician rate is $25.00/hour. The parking rate for all events $7.00 per vehicle.
